Welcome back Coco Puff

Neighborhood kitty Coco Puff came to my patio this morning. She (or he) surprised Mom and was all the way up on the step to my sliding door where I lay and watch over my backyard.

When Coco Puff saw Mom, she went behind a planter on the patio and decided to do a bit of grooming.

I was in the front room, but I heard mom talking to Coco Puff and came to investigate.
Mom told Coco Puff she can stay as long as she doesn’t upset me. We enjoyed looking at each other for a while until Coco wandered off.

It’s forecast to be 110 degrees here today (already 92 at 11 a.m.), so Mom put a fresh bowl of water on a nearby door step for Coco. Coco was brave and went up to investigate, but didn’t drink anything. That’s good….Coco probably has lots of water around the neighborhood to drink.

I hope everyone has a safe Caturday. So many areas of the U. S. are battling rain, floods, fires, and heat! There’s a big fire about 80 miles north of us and we’re getting a lot of smoke. Between the heat and smoke, I’m missing out on my open window time! But fall is coming and the weather will be milder soon.

p.s. Mom got a pretty good look at Coco Puff’s nether regions and didn’t see any obvious boy bits. Mom suspects Coco is either a girl kitty or a neutered boy.

  1. Coco Puff is a sweetheart. I sure hope he/she has a home. What a beautiful kitty!

    • Raven says:

I think Coco has a home. Kitty is in very good condition and shows no interest in food so I know it’s not hungry.

  2. Hopefully Coco is just having a wander about the neighborhood and is not lost.

  3. Summer says:

What a lovely looking cat Coco Puff is. Probably does have a home… at least I hope so!

There’s a fire near us too – my human was outside a little while ago, and a little bit of ash flew by. Fortunately, it’s not all that close to us.

I saw on the news that there was a fire north of LA and they ordered evacuations. I used to live in So. Cal. so I know how scary that can be.

  4. Hm. We’ve been a bit sad that summer is clearly going to its end. It’s now already dark at 9pm (living so far North, we got used to loooong white nights), and it starts getting chilly. However, we prefer this kind of weather to 41°C any time. Well, at least our human. /Tessa and Kajsa

Coco Puff is such a pretty cat! We’re glad you just enjoyed staring at each other, Raven, and no one got upset. That way everyone can enjoy her visit every so often.
The weather has been crazy. For us it’s just been a cool and wet summer. I think we might have reached 90 degrees on just a handful of days here and there. Tomorrow we expect the remnants of Harvey, and we had actually hit an unusual dry spell for this year (which is more normal for August/early Sept. here), so we can use the rain. I bet all those people in TX and LA would have been quite relieved had they been able to send it our way sooner. 🙁

    • Raven says:

Other than the record-setting heat waves at the beginning and end of summer, we’ve had ok weather this season.

What a beautiful kitty and it looks very well cared for…probably does have a home in the neighborhood. Your mom might try to follow it sometime. Thanks for sharing. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy

Kitty jumps fences….mom is too old to follow and the neighbors wouldn’t appreciate it! We’ve seen it wander to the streets both east and west from our house, so I don’t have a clear idea of where it lives.

  7. Coco Puff is very pretty! It looks like she wants to be friends with you.

    • Raven says:

Maybe. She wasn’t threatening at all when she saw me at the window. I think she was mostly concerned about avoiding Mom.

  8. 15andmeowing says:

Coco Puff is a cutie and so are you Raven.

  9. Brian says:

How cool to see Coco Puff again, she’s a looker!

  10. Coco Puff is a beautiful kitty, it looks like he or she may have a home in your neighborhood. Purrs

  11. BZ Dogs says:

Miserably hot, wasn’t it? Let’s hope the forecasters are right and things start to cool down tomorrow. Coco Puff is gorgeous. 🙂

  12. Annie says:

Coco Puff sure is gorgeous. I sure hope it cools off there soon!

  13. That Coco Puff is a little beauty! Would be nice if you could be friends….. but I’m not holding my breath!

  14. Coco Puff is so pretty! (Or handsome!) Glad she/he didn’t upset you. Hope you are getting some cooler weather!
